MOUNTAIN FOLLY

i was in north carolina this past weekend. i visited the an area called cashiers. a beautiful mountain top community too amazing for words. the architecture was charming and the landcape inspiring.

furlow gatewood’s name came up a lot over the weekend. furlow has a compound in georgia made up of several structures including this barn.

i was dreaming about a barn in the mountains all weekend, a place for escape, in my dream it looked just like furlow’s.

all images from furlow’s book on ONE MAN’S FOLLY.
