yesterday i had a wonderful treat. we are in nantucket and we rode bikes out to a quaint and beautiful little town called sconset (some say siasconset). if i had a home in nantucket, this is where it would be. it was quiet, charming, quirky and very chic.

on the recommendation of my new friend kathleen hay and my old friend john de bastiani  we had lunch at the chanticleer. it was heaven on earth. we set outside under a vine covered patio with an abundance of garden flowers at every view point, but what i loved most was the bright blue checked table cloths. they just made me happy.

it got me thinking doesn’t every table, in every kitchen, and in every dining room need a checked table cloth? wouldn’t the world be prettier? if not a checked table cloth, then at least a checked cushion or napkin.
