the doors are open at reese witherspoon’s new draper james store in nashville and it sure is beautiful!
reese started this brand to honor her past and her southern upbringing. the brand offers fashion and home, and everything feels perfectly southern and everything is super pretty.
i had the pleasure and honor to work with reese on designing the store, and to work with benjamin sohr, of pencil & paper, who did the architecture. we wanted the store to feel like her home, a place that was not only beautiful, but comfortable and inviting as well. the windows of the store feel like a front porch, the cash wrap has a big island like a kitchen (you can actually sit and have a glass of sweet tea), and the back of the store feels like a mud room. WWD just featured the store, take a tour here, wonderfully photographed by leslee mitchell.
we had so much fun with all the blue fabrics, wallpapers, lighting and furnishings, i’m especially thrilled with the curation of art, photography by my dearest amy neunsinger, paintings by susan hable, kayce hughes, and chelsea peteja. i especially love the bright yellow oil painting by lindsay cowles , it literally welcomes you and along with everything else, feels happy and bright!
for all of you that know me well, you know i love white houses, beautiful interiors, and inspiring spaces. there are no words to describe how fun this project has been, it’s been thrilling to see reese’s vision and passion come to life, and of course the best part is that everything is so pretty!!
if you happen to be in nashville anytime soon, please stop by, you might just want to move right in!
