i can’t quite put my finger on it, but lately i’ve been quite taken with pale pink! my obsession with pink has turned into a love affair with pastels- maybe it’s the spring 2013 couture shows, or the 2013 award season dresses, most certainly veere grenney fabrics, might be because it’s almost time for spring flowers, could be that we just celebrated easter! whatever the reason- i’m completely into pastels!

i’m also really into abstract painter agnes martin. agnes is referred to as a minimalist, she considered herself an abstract expressionist- i consider her and her work genius!

i’m particularly into her work from the early 1970’s, a portfolio of 30 serigraphs, titled ‘on a clear day’. known for her grid work, this series introduced light pastel washes, the colors shimmer in changing light. later work would give way to varying widths of colorful horizontal bands.

easter has come and gone, however, i hope the easter parade continues. please enjoy the parade of pastels along with the genius work of agnes martin-  join the pastel parade!
