todays post brings together two of my favorite things- valentino and blue & white!
the fall 2013 paris fashion shows came to a climax last week with the triumphant valentino collection. to my delight the design duo of Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Picciolli showed one of their best collections to date, even better it was predominantly blue & white.
i’m a collector of blue and white porcelain, tiles and ceramics and i’m a fan of blue and white interiors. i couldn’t help but see an influence of these things as the looks came down the runway, and when i saw pictures from the dinner party at the hotel salomon de rothschild, celebrating the reopening of the valentino flagship store on avenue montaigne the night after the fall 2013 collection debut, i knew it wasn’t a coincidence.
all the tables were set with blue and white china. the centerpieces were multitudes of blue and white porcelain vases pouring out with garden flowers- so chic, so elegant, so valentino! i can’t think of a better way to say goodbye to paris!
you all know how much i love valentino, i didn’t think it could get any better! now with all the blue and white, i’m a fan forever!
enjoy the valentino fall 2013 collection along with images from a few of my favorite blue and white interiors, most notable michael s. smith designed home in montecito, california, featured in elle decor many years ago.
