HAMPTONS HIDEAWAY

i just came across this hamptons house that james huniford designed on lonny.com. it’s a lesson in restraint and simplicity that is comfortable and inviting. i hate to use the word ‘modern’ because it might conjure up something that feels cold. this house doesn’t feel cold, there is a warmth about it, but it is modern none the less…

…and of course it has a little blue which you all know i can’t help but love.

i love all the texture and the patinas throughout. the white canvas allows all of the furnishings and objects to be highlighted and feel important (even the cutting boards in the kitchen feels special).

i was just in the hamptons. if had a home there i would want to get there and not leave until i had too. traffic is so bad and every place is so super busy. to me it feel like the perfect hamptons getaway (that i would never leave).
