chapter five of my book, Beautiful: All American Decorating and Timeless Style, is called “natural territory.” this chapter showcases some of my interiors that are neutral, casual, natural and comfortable.

the rooms featured in “natural territory” are neutral, they feel a little modern and have a lot of texture. white, ivory, camel, saddle brown, chocolate and black is the palette. abaca rugs, linens, batiks, and baskets provide the warmth. bronze, plaster, rattan, and rustic woods provide the texture.

each chapter from the book has a mood board with inspiration drawn from iconic interiors, gardens, art, fashion and stylish people. these mood boards help tell the story of the book. here are some images that i found to inspire the spirit of “natural territory.”
