i always love part 2 of my mds interviews because i get to ask my favorite people about their favorite people, places, and things…here are mark cunningham’s, and from the looks of things many of his favorites are my favorites too….especially his favorite accessories and his favorite stores (see related posts at the end)….

MDS- What is your favorite Color?

MC- I really do love color, but I tend to live in a neutral palette.

MDS- What is your favorite Flower?

MC- Everyone says it, but peonies.

MC- “Let the Great World Spin” by Colum McCann

MDS- What is your favorite Accessory?

MC- Everyday I put on my tank watch and a pair of converse.

MDS- What is your favorite Restaurant?

MC- Matsalen in Stockholm and I also love sitting at the counter at The Apple Pan in LA. La Mirande in Avignon for their poppy seed cake and at home I always order the short ribs at Il Buco Alimentari.

MDS- Gift to give or to receive?

MC- I don’t have a go to gift – My favorite thing is to stumble across the perfect gift that brings a friend to mind. Receiving something when I least expect it is the best gift.

MC- Cy Twombly and Wade Guyton

MDS- What is your favorite Indulgence?

MC- Red wine, soft serve ice cream and Jil Sander.

MDS- What is your favorite Store?
This is a tough question, as there are many, but here are a few.

MC- Dries Van Noten in Paris, Bloom in Sag Harbor, RTH in LA, Japonesque Gallery and March in San Francisco.

MDS- What is your favorite Vacation spot?

MC- I’m really drawn towards destinations that feel authentic and have a strong sense of place. Recently, I spent a week at the Amangiri in Utah and loved it.
