so today is my birthday, and i can’t think of any better way to start my day. i’m in nyc, went to the magazine stand, loaded up, now i’m at the carlyle, sitting in the gallery doing my weekly ‘week of chic’ best dressed list.

this is one of my favorite rooms in the world. Renzo Mongiardino redid it in 1989. i’m pretty happy sitting here surrounded by hand-painted wallpaper by milanese artist enrico brus and sitting on a banquette dressed in antique turkish kilim- i love all the red too!

also, i’m pretty happy that many of my favorite ladies are on this week’s best dressed list- marina munoz, aerin, kate, vanessa, new favorite leandra medine, and of course, my favorite swan- lauren santo domingo (love her best dressed look snagged from instagram. lesson- when you get a flat tire, make sure you look chic!)

happy birthday to me!
