It looks like i’m not the only one who thinks lisa fine defines chic, glamour and style- all of you do too! i’ve had so many comments and emails reiterating the same feelings. actually last night at the jasper showroom party here in LA, i had several people come up to me and say how much they love lisa fine- and clearly, i do too!

a few other things i love about lisa- i love that her favorite color is the color i have been preaching for the last few months (can you guess?), i love that she loves animals, i love her chic home in paris, i love more than can be expressed her textile collection, i love that she is best friends with my neighbor alex hitz, i love that her favorite store is one of my new favorite stores, and i really love that she and carolina’s irving’s clothing line called irving and fine just did a collection for lucky brand. for those of you who know me well, know why i love that especially!

i hope you enjoy part 2 of the MDS interview with lisa fine- trust me, you’ll discover more of lisa to love! i did!

MDS- What is your favorite Color?

MDS- Right now, what is your favorite Book?

LF- My favorite book this year was “The Lady in Gold”, a story of Gustav Klimt’s masterpiece portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer, and “The Hare with Amber Eyes”. Both are riveting social histories of the turn-of-the-century Vienna. At the moment, I am reading William Dalrymple’s “Return of the King”. I always love his books.

MDS- What is your favorite Restaurant?

LF- I love to eat and I often tease about where I will have my last meal. It has always been between Galatoires in New Orleans or Trishna in Bombay. However, on my recent trip to Hong Kong I fell in love with Inagiku, the Japanese restaurant at the Four Seasons Hotel. The food was delicious and the space was one of the most glamorous restaurants I have ever seen. The floor to ceiling windows faced the harbor and the city of Hong Kong.

“My favorite meal at Trishna: chili garlic crab, friend bindi (okra), hyderabadi dahl, coriander mint chutney, raw onion with Kingfisher beer.”

MDS- What is your favorite Accessory?

LF- My favorite accessory is gold hoop earrings. I love the Ippolita Gold #2 Glamazon Hoops from Neiman Marcus.

MDS- What is your favorite Gift to give or receive?

LF- I often give books, especially when they are written by a friend. Alex Hitz’s “My Beverly Hills Kitchen” was my Christmas present of choice this year. His pulled pork is one of my favorites.

I love to be given anything beautiful or inspiring, especially things with animals.

MDS- What is your favorite Flower?

LF- Magnolias are my favorite flower and they are also the state flower of Mississippi. I love the frangipani trees in India as they remind me of magnolias.
