i love a box, actually any type of box! it can be a blue smythson box, a red box from cartier or robins egg tiffany box, a box full of chocolate from ladurée, and my favorite and probably yours too an hermès box!

but my favorite type of box is one for the home- teak with bone, chinoserie, pin-shell, shagreen, pine needle, parchment, tortoise, wicker, wood, silver, lacquered, lucite- any type, any size, any place! on the coffee table, the mantle, the bar, on a book shelf or a console, next to the bed, on the bathroom counter, everywhere and anywhere! i love lot’s of boxes- the best accessory there is!

i love to collect them, stack them, cluster them, group them, display them. besides being easy and beautiful they hide things! remote controls, coasters, dog toys, lotion, pens, post-its, paper clips- i could go on and on! trust me you need them, lot’s of them!

the best boxes are from john rosselli, i’m addicted and so are my clients! mecox gardens and hollyhock here in la are also great places for boxes too! don’t just take my word for it, take a look at a few vignettes of beautiful boxes!

today is my birthday- how appropriate to talk about boxes and even better to chat about them on friday for friday favorites! today i’ll take any type of box, small or large, old or new, even an hermès box will do! today is all about a box- a birthday box! enjoy!
