most interior photography books are about the entire room, everything in dazzling light- what i like and feel is different about martyn thompson’s photography is how he captures the details, the moments, the space, the vignettes! it’s something special, you’ll see!
even before i got this book interiors- martyn thompson, i was a huge admirer of martyn’s work- i always loved how he shot thomas o’brien’s apartment and highland lodge for house and garden, francisco costa’s apartment for t style magazine is one of my favorite interior moments.
martyn, who was untrained in photography, has his own perspective. his mastery of light, atmosphere and his cinematic approach is fresh and unique. he uses shadows which give his pictures a powerful presence, can’t you see it?
the book interiors- martyn thompson is perfect for sunday book club- because i love how he captures the details, but mostly because i love the moments and vignettes! enjoy!
