so the last few days have all been about fashion, art and celebrities, like you i’m sure, i think its time again for some beautiful interiors- how about a chic chateau?!

the new may issue of the world of interiors, photographed by fritz von der schulenburg, gives us exactly what we want. frank brenninkmeyer was seeking some sun, what better place to find it then in southwest france. what he discovered was a chateau first built in 1780. over the years there have been many renovations, more discoveries!

previous owners had had their own take on the property. at one point partitions had gone up adding rooms for growing families then new owners took them down. as partitions came down, blocked doorways were opened, new doorways added, things hidden from view for 200 years were discovered.

what i discovered were beautiful details. i’m in love with blue’s and greens, i love them even more when they are used together. take note of the painted walls, the combinations, the trims, the patinas. the gardens are to die for and the living spaces are perfectly appointed- calm, comfortable, serene- old world chic!

back to interiors, back to blue, add a little green- it’s time! what you get- chateau chic! enjoy!

busts by houdon from lorenzi in paris make an elegant trio under the louis xv staircase- i love the blue trim!

the expanded kitchen which was a group of partitioned rooms- i love the blue cabinets and the green ladder-back chairs

the richly decorated ceilings in the blue guest room were discovered during restoration as partitions came down- they had not been exposed for over 200 years!
