to be honest, there wasn’t a lot of best dressed ladies this week. not many parties, galas or premiers. i think everyone was home preparing for the holidays and spending time with family- and that’s where they should be. however, there were some major fashion moments that definitely saved the week and created a lot of fashion excitement!

first, my week with marilyn premiered. michelle williams is absolutely beyond gorgeous and brilliantly captivating on the screen. the neutral wardrobe is so chic- trench coats, black turtlenecks, pencil skirts, white blouses, LBD’s, head scarves, glamorous sunglasses. after the movie, i researched and refreshed my memory on how marilyn monroe dressed in real life. the movie portrayed her perfectly, its clear to me that her classic style and simple elegance was overshadowed by her sexiness and voluptuous figure. sex icon, movie icon, and who knew, fashion icon. so very chic!

second, the ama’s were this week. great performances and lot’s of fashion hits, and with all music awards shows, some misses. one of the biggest fashion moments of the year was nicki minaj in oscar de la renta- as you all know, one my favorite designers. she is so adorable and fun! fabulous in oscar’s spring 2012 kelly green ball gown and accessorized with pink hair. how ironic, trendy rapper dressed in uptown glamour- adorable and chic! fun and beautiful!

lastly, barney’s of new york, under new creative leadership, kicked off christmas with some fashion brilliance this week. their holiday inspiration is none other than fashion icon lady gaga, im not the biggest fan but i do appreciate her creative vision. a reinterpretation of santa’s workshop,  gaga’s workshop, was created in her honor on the 5th floor of their madison ave. store. this huge gaga installation was erected and filled with limited edition items to be sold with 25 percent of the proceeds going to lady gaga’s anti bullying organization , the born this way organization.

lady gaga had a very busy week- she also had a thanksgiving day music special on abc and a new photography book by terry richardson launched. a non- stop fashion workshop!

born this week- fashion excitement, fashion brilliance, fashion gaga!
